reviews the year's best designs. Because new products need a few years
to find their market, the 2002 Catalyst Award was chosen from IDEA
winners of 1997, 1998 and 1999. The A-2000 was a 1999 bronze winner
in the Medical & Scientific category.
The Aspect Medical Systems A-2000T BIS® Monitor, which
has grabbed over 25 percent domestic market share since its 1998 introduction,
is the winner of the inaugural Design & Business Catalyst Award,
the first annual award to measure the business success stories of design.
The Catalyst is co-sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of
America (IDSA) and the premier business magazine, BusinessWeek. The
Catalyst Award captures data on design impact and shows companies that
